View NotesJammin Jed's 2024 Summer Tour hits Gonja Land for a two night run! And it's a very special one, since just before the shows Gonja annoucned she was closing the doors on the venue - so these would be the last Jed shows to take place at this awesome venue where it's always a good show. On night one, Kalyca McCallen joins on the light board and together she and Jed light things up for an enthusiastic crowd. The show kicks off with the little ditty "Quarter To Four" which usually means we are in for a party! Jed launches into "The Last Show" next, followed by the instrumental "Outside Looking In." A song from Jed's 'Tales Of Halloweens Past' event pops up next, the super fun and educational "Look Out Here Comes A Comet!" with its a to z list of dinosaurs and an extended "Asteroid" jam coming out of it. The fun gonja-related song "Ten Ounces" is next followed by a cover of a June Faramore tune called "Meadow" played with June in attendance! The gospel-esque prog rocker "Twelve" closes the set with its powerful twelve-count end portion. Second set opens with another one from Halloweens past, the nostalgic "Growing Up In The 80's" and it opens up into an epic jam that features multiple segments and clocks in at over 22 minutes. It segues into yet another one from the Halloween's Past show, the spacey "Orbit." Next up is the Mark Gutenplan song "Remember This Night" which also extends into a lengthy jam full of energy and key changes that slides seamlessly into "It Ain't Living." Jed's "My Tune" closes out the set and an emotional cover of "Daydream Believer" puts a point on the end of the show. Included here is also a cool little soundcheck jam. This is a solid show, and though the first set is relatively light on jamming, it features some great tunes, and maybe the best version of the LOHCAC>Asteroid combo. And second set really takes off with a couple monster jams. Thought night two at this venue might be a better all around show, don't sleep on giving this one a spin too! Enjoy!
