View NotesJed Luckless is back for what has become a monthly residency at Odeen's in Carmel, NY! This is month #7 and once again Jed is rocking with the local pool league. With the last Wednesday of the month landing on the last day of the month, Jed opens the show with something appropriate, Led Zeppelin's "Rock And Roll," since it feels like its been a long time since he rock and rolled at the venue. He follows that up with the opening track from his latest album "Time & Tide," and then it's back to covers with the Talking Head's "Cities," which he opens up into the first jam of the night. It's a hot, humid one, and Jed busts a string but powers through the jam and right on into his rocker "Sugar Pop" before pausing to replace the string. He picks things up again with another Zep tune, "Battle of Evermore," but then closes the first set with two originals, "Each And Every Day" and "Forgot To Forget You," joined together with another nice improv jam. Second set opens with a nice, mellow tempo version of Jed's "Latest Craze" which of course spawns a nice second set jam that slides into a tune from Jed's 2022 Halloween show, the bluesy "Red Light." Up next is a little Grateul Dead with "Friend Of The Devil" followed by some Phish with "Twist," which Jed jams on a bit before a segue into the Who's "Behind Blue Eyes." "Ungratefully Dead," the third cut of the night off Jed's latest album, close out the set, and a nice rendition of John Mellencamp's "Pink Houses" caps off the night. This is another fun Jed Show at Odeen's with his usual mix of covers, originals and jams. Enjoy!
