View NotesJed is back for night two at Gonja Land on his 2024 Summer Tour, and whoa boy is this a good one. With this famous Second Life venue closing up shop, it would be Jed's final show there, which is sad since this has been the sight of many great Jed shows. But a massive crowd shows up to celebrate the night and with Moonie on lights, the energy levels are off the charts. The show opens strongly with "Rolling Waves" a favorite jam vehicle for Jed which instantly sets the tone for this night with a hot jam right out of the gate. It segues into an energetic version of the typically beautiful instrumental "Doitger." Jed's bringing all his faves in tonite, and he launches into "The 86" next, taking the always rocking solo section to new heights with this one. The fun Phish tour inspired "Ass Gas or Grass" follows and it gets dirty! Things slow down only for a moment with the somber "Listen To The Angels," before ratcheting back up with the first cover of the night and Velvet Underground's "Rock And Roll," which Jed opens up into a nice jam that transitions into the bluegrasser "Where The Mountains Meet The Sea" to close the first set. Second set opens with an expression of love for venue owner Gonja who has been a great supporter of Jed's music for years now. Then Jed launches into a favorite second set jam vessel "Give It Back" which generates another great improv jam before turning into a powerful "Valley Of The Saints." Just when you think there might be a lull, Jed instead revs the engines with "Maserati" followed by one from his Halloween's Past event, the ecological "Listen To Nature." Another cover tune pops up next, and it's a rocking version of the Rolling Stones "Loving Cup," which you would totally think was the set closer, but no, Jed slips in his calypso vibed "By And Bye" to end it. Of course it wouldn't be a show at Gonja Land without "Brother Love," and of course after a brief dedication to Gonja, Jed wraps things up with this weed-themed fan favorite. Also included with this recording is a cool soundcheck jam, and a fun bonus soundcheck song never heard before called "Margarita." Let's hope we hear that one live soon! This is a super special show at a beloved Second Life venue on the cusp of closing its doors. An amazing crowd raises the energy levels through the roof and Jed and Moondance deliver a top notch show full of great songs and fiery jams. An absolute must listen A+++ show! Enjoy!
