View NotesThe Jed Luckless 2024 Summer Tour makes its penultimate stop at Kittenx in Secondlife and it's the first time Jed and the Jed Heads have played at this cool little rooftop beach club. It's a beautiful night for a show and Kalyca McCallen joins in on lights. Jed is obviously in a jammy mood 'cos opens things up with "Latest Craze" usually a second set jam vehicle and extends it with a nice jam that finds its way into a bouncy "Jackie." Jed's rocker "Homewrecker" is up next, followed by "The Story Of Shirtless Joe," which uncharacteristically opens up into a really nice improv jam that segues nicely into "Sunlight" followed the live debut of a song Jed has been soundchecking recently, a fun blue grasser called "Margarita" which closes out the first frame. Second set opens with a dedication to the host in "Pirate Chaser" one from Jed's Halloweens Past event. Of course he shoves off into a long improv jam that goes tease crazy with a nod to "All In The Family" as well as 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' which makes perfect sense when Jed makes a turn into his Luna Suite tune "Oh My Star." The first cover song of the night pops up next with Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl," but then it's back to originals with "The Need For Love," which spawns yet another monster jam, this one a fast paced rocker with multiple key shifts and drunk breakdowns. It also features a serious Andy Griffith Theme tease (for SweetDeb one of the hosts). The jam swings into "Trapeze" another song from Tales of Halloweens Past which has not been played live since its debut in 2022. A fiery take on Phish's "First Tube" closes out the second set on a super high note, and another Phish cover "When The Circus Comes" puts a point on the evening. This is a really good show at a new venue with a great crowd that brought a ton of energy and an awesome light show from Kalyca. For his part, Jed delivers at least three or four really good jams along with a song debut and a bust out from Halloweens Past. And you can never go wrong with a show that ends with "First Tube." Highly recommend giving this one a listen. Enjoy!
