View NotesJed Luckless is back at Odeen's in Carmel, NY continuing his monthly residency that has now been a nine month affair! The pool league is back this time and Jed delivers a rockin' show for them to play along to. First set kicks off with Jed's alt-indie-type rocker "Always Alone," which slides nicely right into "Moved To The Country." There's always a few classic covers on pool league night, and Jed jumps into those with Neil Young's "Ohio," but it's back to originals again next with "I Love You" which produces the first extended jam of the night. It rambles right into the Allman Brother's "Ramblin Man." "The 86" is up next which always provides a nice backdrop for a soaring solo by Jed and this one is a fine example. The recently introduced shorty "Margarita" closes the first frame. Jed opens second set with "Victim Of The Rhytm" which of course provides a nice jam vehicle for an extended improv that bounces around a bit before settling into the rock-blueser "Side Door." It's back to covers next with a visit to the 80's and "I Melt With You" followed by a strong of originals starting off with a short "One And..." paired with it's partner in crime "Ride With The Devil," the latter of which opens up into one last improv jam that takes flight and lands on "The Birds Don't Know." The fun bluesy "Black Molly" closes out the set, and a Led Zeppelin encore of "Hey hey What Can I Do" puts a point on a great evening of music. Jed's Odeen's shows seem to be getting better and better, and this one has great sound quality and a number of fun jams, as well as really good versions of some of his originals plus a few fun cover tunes. Definitely worth a spin! Enjoy!
