View NotesJed Luckless is back at Odeen's in October on the last Wednesday of the month for a bit of a Halloween themed show! Jed opens things up with a nice tribute to the recently deceased Grateful Dead legend Phil Lesh with "Box Of Rain." The Halloween fun starts next with Phish's "Ghost" featuring a nice extended jam that find it's way into Warren Zevon's "Werewolves Of London." It's a debut for Jed, and you can tell, since he doesn't quite get the feel of the song right. But he shakes it off and launches into his original "Doesn't" and pairs it with a nice long jam and the somewhat morbid tale of the Grateful Dead's "Me And My Uncle." Another Phish song "Wolfman's Brother" closes out the first set and features a really nice jam. Second set kicks off nicely with the 'moe.' song "Happy Hour Hero," which spawns a hot jam that segues into Jed's "Ass, Gas Or Grass," always a fun, high energy tune. A Led Zeppelin cover pops in next with a middling attempt at "Misty Mountain Hop" followed by Jed's original instrumental "The Hairdresser" complete with whistling. A Halloween throwback is next with "Pirate Chaser" and one last monster jam that lands in Jed's comically morbid "Throw It Down The Hill" to close the set. A two song encore features Jed's lobsterman ghost song "Geneva Sue" and one last Grateful Dead nod with a rockin' version of "Deal" to put an exclamation point on the night. This is yet another good show in Jed's Odeen's run, with a fun setlist, several good jams and a bunch of Grateful Dead and Phish. Enjoy!
