View NotesThe Jed Luckless 2024 Summer Tour rolls on with the first of two back-to-back shows at The Mumbling Goat in Second Life. Moondance Parx joins on lights and this is one of the Jed and Moonie's favorite spots to play, since it is optimized for sound and light! An explosive crowd shows up and stays late into the night as the pair deliver an outstanding show. Things kick off rather mellowly with Jed's instrumental "The Hairdresser," but they ramp up quickly with "Alignments" and it's high energy solo section. The first monster jam of the night erupts next, out of "Each And Every Day," alwyas a fun, community oriented tune and even more apropos as if Jed is singing it to Moonie. The jam is 32 minutes, super bouncy, with ripping guitar riffs, a "Down With Disease" tease and several movements featuring some nice synth action too. Road Trip's evil cousin "Hurtful Things" emerges from the transition, and is followed by the upbeat blugrasser "Nellie Kane" (a debut for Jed?). A poweful version of "In This Moment" from the Jammin Jed's A.I. Halloween event closes out the first frame. After a brief history of Jed'summer tours, the second set opens with the cosmic "Lost In The Stars" which blasts off into another monster jam that also has Jed working the ivories as well as ripping his guitar solos across dynamic key shifts. It segues into the emotive "Feel" off Jed's latest album. A beuatiful rendition of "The Birds Don't Know" comes next, highlighted by Moonie's amazing light show. The title track from Jed's latest album "Multiply" makes an appearance and delivers one more super hot jam for the night before it surprisingly slides into a rare cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb." The high energy 'true story' of "The Kid That Tried To Fly" closes out the set, and a nice cool down encore features the GuRGLe era tune "Open Road." Included with this recording is also a nice soundcheck jam along with the soundcheck of Trey Anastasio's "Outside The Lines." This is a fantastic show, super long and brimming with energy throughout. Three hours in at the venue the place was still packed and the crowd was clamoring for more (they'd have to wait until night two!). The setlist features some great recent originals and a few interesting covers, but the jams are the highlight of this show. This one is a must listen! Enjoy!
