View NotesJammin Jed's 2024 Winter Tour returns to Gonja Land for another round! This time Moonie is on the lights and the Jed Heads turned out in force for a rocking night in the Gonja "dome". The show opens with a cut from Jed's Tales of Halloweens Past, the nostalgic "Growing Up In The 80's" setting a great tone for the fun night ahead. A pair of lockdown era tunes follows, quiet "The Birds Don't Know" and up-tempo "The Last Show." The latter expands into the first improv jam of the night, and also the longest, featuring some nice synthy guitar before shifting into the reggae-style cautionary tale "Hurtful Things." The bluegrasser "Slipping Through My Hands" closes the first frame. Second set starts out with some marching orders from Jedtainment to play some cuts from the new album, so Jed obliges with "Latest Craze" and "Time & Tide" joined with a bouncy and uplifting jam. After that he goes a bit rogue with a bust out of AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" but returns to his originals with one from the refent A.I. Halloween show called "In This Moment." It produces another great jam with rapid-fire guitar riffs, that teases "Barracuda" and "Heartbreaker" before it segues into a Zepplein cover, "Black Country Woman." Jed slows things down a bit with the gentle " When It Comes Around," then ramps things right back up with yet another cover, "Okay Alright" by moe. Jed appeases his masters one more time for the encore with a cut from the new album and a fan fave "Throw It Down The Hill." Also included with this recording is a brief but tasty sound check jam. This a fantastic show with great energy and two solid sets of original Jed tunes and jams, but also a number of interesting covers from classic rock bands. It's also one of the longest shows on the tour, with two jams over 20 minutes and another just under 20. This is well worth a listen, so pop on some headphones, settle in and enjoy!
