View NotesJed Luckless is back at Odeen's At Spins in Carmel, NY for another night of BBQ and jams! The weather's a bit better this time, and a few Jed Heads rolled in for the show along with some regulars who got into the groove! Jed opens things up with the rare "Luna Overture" an uncommon piece from his 'Luna Suite' and he follows it with "Ozone Blues" which made us wonder if he was actually going to play the whole suite! But alas, he pivots from Ozone to his hard-rocking "Homewrecker." Batting clean up in the roster tonight is the bouncy and nostalgic "The Last Show" which Jed opens up into the first hot jam of the night, featuring a fast paced rhythm and some fiery guitar lines. It finds it's way into a cut off his latest album "Feel." The first cover of the night appears next, with Jed's take on Talking Head's "Cities" with a nice solo section, and another nice improv jam that segues into the first set closer, fan favorite "Brother Love" which had the audience up and dancing. Second set opens at high speed with the instrumental "Maserati," with Jed pumping the breaks for the melancholy "Sunlight" next. Things get interesting with "Victim Of The Rhythm" and a nice long jam featuring a pounding rhythm with rapid fire guitar before a transition into "Brand New Day" a fairly new entry from Jed's 2023 A.I. Halloween show. A much older tune, the pop-rocker "Angel" takes flight next, producing another nice jam with some cool trippy synth helping make the transition into "Time & Tide," another cut off Jed's recent 'Multiply' album. He caps off the set with the always fun Calidgh Spires tune "The Song With Words And Stuff" and adds on a nice cover of the Grateful Dead's "Ripple" as an encore. This is a high energy show with a solid setlist and some really sweet jams. These monthly show at Odeen's are a real treat and Jed has really settled into his live stage setup. Definitely one worth giving a listen to! Enjoy!
