View NotesJed Tour rolls into Killiney Beach for a two night stand on Jammin Jed's 2024 Summer Tour! This venue has been the site of some legendary Jed shows, which usually have a theme or spell something with the set list, and this continues that trend as Jed spells out "Killiney Beach" with the song titles! Without many "k" songs at his disposal, Jed opts to open up the show with the Phish song "Kill Devil Falls," which certainly seems like a great choice, and it sure gets the beach rocking right out of the gate! His original song "I Love You" is next and it opens up into the first big jam of the night, which features some great guitar tone from Jed as well as a nice vibrato type key solo. It segues into "La Puerta," a fun and weird storytelling tune. "Lead Me" off Jed's 2010 'All At Once' album is up next, followed by a bluegrass ditty called "I Don't Give A Shit," which has only been played once before on 10/18/22. Jed's pop-rocker "Nothing's Ever Free" produces another fantastic jam. This one has a vibrant, uplifting rhythm with Jed's rippin' guitar over top of it and makes a nice key change then slides into some ambience before transitioning into the poignant love song "End Of Time." Another Phish tune "Yamar," closes out the set on a bouncy up note. Second set opens with another cut off Jed's 'All At Once' album, the bouncy "Back Again," followed by the Mark Gutenplan penned "Englishtown," which features the monster jam of the second set. It has Jed soloing against a very cool synth/whammy backdrop and includes a fun Frere Jaqcue tease and a pronounced key shift before a segue into the finger-picked "All The Same." Needing to close out the set with songs that start with "c" and "h" Jed delivers two covers to close the show: Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl and the classic much covered Otis Redding tune "Hard To Handle." With an impending curfew on the beach, there was no encore. This is another fun show on Killiney Beach that sticks to the spelling trend and as a result delivers a uniquely interesting mix of tunes, including originals, covers and some rarities. Setlist aside, this show features three really good jams that are worth a spin. Enjoy!
