View NotesJammin' Jed returns for night two of his 2024 Summer Tour run at The Mumbling Goat in Second Life! Moondance Parx is back on lights, and if he previous night was any indication, things were sure to be lit! And sure enough an amazing crowd turned out to rival the energy of night one!

The show opens in a fun manner with Jed doing his debut cover of Pat Benetar's "Heartbreaker" (after having just seen her live, 42 years after seeing her in 1982 as one of his first live concerts!). Fan favorite "Catfish Friend" swims up next, with a lengthy jam portion. An instrumental from Jammin Jed's A.I. Halloween follows, a prog-ish rocker called "Red Zone." Batting cleanup in the roster is the always fun Phish/Kasvot song "Turtle In The Clouds." Jed continue the trend of including his 2023 Hallowen tunes with "Brand New Day" and opens it up into the first extended jam of the night, a super high energy rapid blitz that features blazing guitars, a punctuated key change and a shift into a nice floaty melody before a nice segue into an amazing version of "Meredith," with Jed really leaning into the solo guitar portion. The bouncy blueser "Old Town Hall" closes out the first frame.

Second set opens with the eclectic "Mr. Beaman" with it's unqiue chord progressions, various sections and somewhat mysterious lyrics. Jed opens it up into another massive twentry-four minute jam that starts out with cowbell, rapid fire guitar lines and pitchshifting before it morphs into a nice minor jam featuring ambient tones and an organ solo that devolves into the next song, a cover of McKean Sinkler's "On And On We Go." Jed slows things down a bit and sends out the rare "Secret Language" to his buddy Trey, then revs things back up with "Worthless Emotion," a downright ancient tune that smacks of teenage frustration. It uncharacteristically spawns another nice improv jam, this one a bit more of a plodder that builds from sultry synths to biting guitar riffs before it slides sweetly into a cover of Phil Collins "The Roof Is Leaking," at which point the virtual skies opened up with digital rain! It's a beautiful moment and when it's over, Jed launches into the beloved "Throw It Down The Hill," which he brings to a rousing conclusion to close out the set. The encore is a dedication to Goat host Meg Madrigal with the Trey Anastasio song "Architect." Included with this recording is a cool little soundcheck jam too.

What an incredible run at The Mumbling Goat, fast becoming a venue where you can absolute count on catching fire! This show is an absolute blazer with a agreat setlist featuring some classics, some debuts, some Halloween tunes, some covers, and some scorching jams. Put this one on your must hear list now and enjoy!
