View NotesJed's back for night two at Strawberry Fields in the opening salvo of his 2024 Summer Tour in Second Life! No t-storms in the are this time, so it's a prompt and stable start to the show! Kalyca McCallen joined on lights again and together she and Jed deliver a rockin evening at this virtual Hotel Chelsea hosted venue! The show opens aptly with Jed's debut of the Shuggie Otis song "Strawberry Letter 23." It's a great nod to the venue (and Phish) and a perfectly fun way to kick things off. But Jed quickly settles into his own groove with the prog-rocker "Water Glass" and it's fiery solo section, followed by one that always gets the fans singing along, the Mark Gutenplan penned "Road Trip." Jed hits the accelrator pedal next with his original "Doesn't" which he often uses as a jam vehicle, and this time he opens it up into a high octane jam that extends to nearly thirty minutes. It transitions nicely into the more somber "Listen To The Angels," followed by the 'Multiply' album cut "Forgot To Forget You" to close out the first set. Second set kicks off with another couple tunes from last year's Jammin jed's A.I. Halloween event - it's nice to see so many of these new songs hitting rotation (with two played the previous night as well.) This time it's the upbeat rocker "Heart Of The City." extended with an awesome improv jam that slides effortlessly into the beautiful instrumental "Float." The love gone wrong song "Some Notes On Lying" is up next, followed closely by the hard rocking "Homewrecker." The 'cowboy' tune "Ride With The Devil" trots in next, with a traditionally short version of "One And" preceding it. It's not usually a jam tune, but this time it opens up into a gallop and goes for fifteen minutes before sliding into the Grateful Dead's "Deal" with it's rocking end jam closing out the set. A brief "Geneva Sue" encore puts a period on the evening. Also included here is a sweet little soundcheck jam. This is a fantastic show with great energy and a solid setlist full of classics, newer tunes and some wicked good jams. Definitely give this one a listen and enjoy!
