View NotesJed Luckless is back after a nearly four month break from touring with a rare Summer Tour! Jed's 2024 Summer Tour kicked off on July 17. 2024 at Strawberry Fields in Second Life (hosted by virtual Hotel Chelsea). The show *almost* didn't happen as a rash of severe thunderstorms descended right before the show, knocking out power. But after a short weather delay, power was restored and the show went on with electricity in the air! Jed starts thing off quietly with a rare acoustic instrumental called "Equinox," maybe only the second or third time played. It sets a nice tone for the evening, but things quickly heat up with a rocking version of "Always Alone" following hot on its heels. The GuRGLe era blueser "Black Molly" swims up next, followed by a pair of tunes from 2023's Jammin Jed's A.I. Halloween, namely "Where Are We Now" and "Lost In You," attached by the first big jam of the night. Another jam erupts next out of one of Jed's favorite new jam vehicles "Rollng Waves." It features a bouncy piano lead, scorching guitar riffs along with a few attempts at a 'Happy Birthday' tease, and it sprawls out over twenty minutes until a rocky transition into "Where The Mountains Meet The Sea" to close out the first frame. Second set starts out with Jed extending an official "Happy Rezday" to long time Jed Head and Jedtainment Merchandise Director Ribon, who has certainly changed the game when it comes to Second Life tour merch! "Latest Craze" gets the music going and of course spawns a nice long improv jam with piercing guitar solos. It winds down into the somber "Side Door," a nice version featuring some ripping guitar. "Moved To The Country" lightens things up a bit, before Jed ventures into dangerous waters with "The Story of Shirtless Joe." There's one last deep breath with the mellow "Uprooted" before launching into a blazing "After Midnight" to close the set. The encore features a beautiful rendition of "Undeserved" which although it was written for Bernie Sanders, had many in the crowd thinking of our beloved lost Enola, former proprietor of Hotel Chelsea. In spite of the weather delay, this show delivers a thunderous punch and is a great opener to what is sure to be an amazing summer tour! Good setlist with a few rarities and a couple tunes from last Halloween, along with several lightning packed jams! Give it a spin and enjoy!
