View NotesIt's the Jed Luckless 2024 Winter Tour closer at Killiney Beach in Second Life and whoa boy does it ever deliver a fantastic end to a great tour! Jed always brings the heat to this beach venue, and the crowd brought tons of energy too. This was supposed to be a two night stand, but the Sunday night show had to be cancelled, so it was one last Saturday night blow out on the tour, and even without a light show, there was electricity in the air!

You know it's gonna be a good show when Jed opens it up with something liek Led Zeppelin's "Rock And Roll!" That pretty much set the tone right out of the gate. He slows the roll a bit next with "Time & Tide" off his new album, and then suprises with a cover of Peter Gabrel's "Shaking The Tree" in honor of International Women's Day. It's interesting to hear his use of programmed percussion on this which is rare for Jed, not to mention singing in Swahili. The GuRGLe tune "Stronger Instead" is next and it marks the point where the jams take over the night, this one going for nearly 24 minutes before transitioning into "Hollywood Blues" which makes its first appearance outside of its origin in Jed's Tales of Halloween Past event. The pop-rocker "Nothing's Ever Free" is up next, which also spawns a nice improv jam before seamlessly sliding into "Forgot To Forget You" to close out the first set.

Second set is where things really get serious, starting with a classic second set opener "Victim Of The Rhythm." We've heard alot of VOTR jams over the years, but its not hyberpole to say this one is quite possibly the G.O.A.T. It's an incredible jam that has a series of stops and starts built around various teases including Andy Griffith, Frere Jacques, Peanuts, and others. Clocking in at 40 minutes it was a truly transcendent piece of improvisational music. When it finally comesback to Earth and lands in "Smile Forever," Jed delivers a wonderful version of that classic tune as well. You could literally end the show there and everyone would have been happy, but Jed treats the crowd to one more awesome jam, sandwhiched in betweenBob Dylan's "Tagled Up In Blue," and "Sunlight" off Jed's 2010 All At Once album. A rocking "Loving Cup" cover closes out the second set in style, and a brief but fun "By And Bye" puts an exclamation point on the show and the tour.

This is an incredibly awesome show from start to finish, and while it didn't have a theme or spell anything like other Killiney shows have, it was definitely one of the best on the tour, and possibly of all time. The Victim of The Rhythm jam will be talked about for a long time I'm sure. Don't even consider skipping this one. Hit play right now! And enjoy!
