View NotesJed Luckless is back at Odeen's At Spins in Carmel, NY with another chance to catch his show live outside of The Jedstead studio! The show was also webcast live on Facebook for those not local. It's so great to see Jed taking his show on the road, and we hope he continues this trend at Odeens and other venues! Jed opens the show with a cut off his new album, the up-tempo "Latest Craze" which sets a good bar for the night's energy level with it's rockin solo section. He slows things a bit next with the somewhat somber "Listen To The Angels" with it's melancholy mix of mellow vibes and major grooves. The first cover song of the night pops up next with the Velvet Underground's "Rock And Roll," which opens up into the first big jam of the night. It segues into another cut from Jed's new album, the reflective "Time & Tide." Fresh off his trip to Mexico for a run of Phish shows, Jed is compelled to include one of his favorite Phish sandwhiched, "Sand" into "Dirt," with another rocking improv jam in between. One more cut off his new album closes out the set, the irreverant fan favorite "Throw It Down The Hill." Second set opens strongly with the fast-paced rocker "Rolling Waves," which delivers a strong solo section and also opens up into a nice improv jam. It's paired nicely with the Grateful Dead's "Franklin Tower." Jed brings JLB bandmate Kenny Kaufman to the stage next for another Dead tune, "Loser," which Kenny sings voraciously. It's great to see Jed expanding his live act to include special guests! Jed keeps it going with a popular JLB tune "Ozone Blues," during which a Jerry Springer type brawl breaks out in the bar, while Jed doesn't miss a beat! After the brouhaha, he settles things down with "Barter Creek' before closing out the second frame with the bouncy self-helper "My Tune." An extended encore features "The Need For Love" with one last bonus jam that segues into "Far Gone Blues" to put a point on the evening. This is another great outing for Jed at Odeen's and it sure bodes well for a possible future non-virtual Jed Tour! What's great is you can still tune into the webcast if you're not nearby! This show has a solid setlist, with several hot jams, and something for everyone: Covers for the Deadheads and Phans plus new and old material for hard-core Jed Heads! And as always, jams, jams, jams! Great soundboard quality recording too. Enjoy!
