View NotesJed's 2024 Winter Tour continues with a show at Gonja Land in Secondlife on January 19, 2024! This one took place at the Cyber City location in Gonja Land, and although it was a cool backdrop for the show, Moondance Parx was unfortunately not able to be at the show. Still, Jed delivers a couple of snazzy sets. Jed opens with "Back Again," a cut off his 2010 All At Once album. He pauses for a moment to commemorate the fact that this is his 700th show since the Jed Base began tracking Jed shows in 2009! He ramps things back up with the historical epic "2000 Pikes," followed by the indie-pop-rocker "Always Alone." A cut off his new Multiply album is up next, the bouncy "Latest Craze" which opens up into the first extended jam of the night. It winds down into the cautionary tale of addiction "Side Door." A short instrumental called "Float" makes an appearance, from Jed's recent A.I. Halloween show and one of his newer originals "Lost In The Stars" closes out the first set. Second set opens with a pair of songs off Jed's new album, the self-reflective "Time & Tide," paired with a slow, gentle version of "Own." The two are joined by a the longest improv jam of the night. "Homewrecker" crashes the scene next, followed by the often jammed out "Give It Back," which gets a shortened jam here before a segue into the only cover song of the night, David Bowie's "Space Oddity." Due to a hard curfew at the venue, there is no encore. This is a short but solid and historic 700th show, with an interesting setlist of originals and a few nice jams. A few of the tunes are a bit rusty with Jed having skipped his Fall Tour, but the jams make up for it, and it's nice to hear "Float" making it into the repetoire. Always fun to hear "Space Oddity" too. Enjoy!
