View NotesJed Luckless takes his show on the road! This is a rare solo show from Jed at a local venue called Odeen's in Carmel, NY. Jed mostly streams online from the Jedstead studio, but he's put together a cool mobile setup that allows him to replicate his show live in bars and other venues! His mobile setup even includes a small v-drum kit and tablet keyboard so he can do his full on jam fests. It also allow shim to stream the show to Facebook with soundboard audio for his virtual fans, many of which are not local. The show opens with "Time & Tide," a cut off Jed's new "Multiply" album and a perfect way to ease into the night. He follows it with the bouncy "I Love You," and doesn't wait long to try opening up the jams, extending it to 11 minutes before a nice segue into "All At Once," the title track off his 2010 album. The fun and apropos blueser "Moved To The Country" is up next, followed by a surprise try at Led Zeppelin's "Over The Hills And Far Away" as Jed does his best to channel some Jimmy Page. It's back to more comfortable ground with the GuRGLe-era "Cash Me In," followed by the up-temp bluegrassy "Used To Feel Good" to close the first frame. Second set opens with a dedication to Mark Gutenplan and the JLB who were all in attendance, a tune they often play called "Englishtown" which features a nice jam before sliding into the Beatles' "Dear Prudence." It's back to Jed originals next with "Doesn't" which produces the longest jam of the night clocking in over 17 minutes and featuring melodic guitar lines and a nice ambient section. A couple of covers follow with fun versions of the Rolling Stones' "Loving Cup" and the Grateful Dead's "Friend of The Devil." Jed closes out the show with his pop-rocker "Still In Luv With U." This is kind of a historic show, as Jed's never really done this type of full-on one man band jam-fest at a bar or venue other than his studio, and considering that, it is a very solid show with a great setlist and some tasty jams. The sound quality is really nice too. Definitely worth a listen. Enjoy!
