The Jed Luckless 2024 Winter Tour kicks off with a rare visit to Cafe Musique in Secondlife! It's only the 2nd (or 3rd?) time Jed tour has rocked this popular beach venue, and it's a great spot to start the tour at! Moondance Parx was in attendance and the shoreline was ablaze with her beautful lights! Jed's Winter Tour poster and merch features a dragon, and coincidentally its the beginning of the year of the dragon, so he opens of course with "Dragonne," an instrumental from his Tales of Halloweens Past show. It's a nice way to ease into things, but a more typical opener "Rolling Waves" kicks things up a notch. "Time And Tide" is up next, the first song on Jed's new "Multiply" album and the first of many tunes from the album that will get played throughout this tour. He dips further back to his 2010 album "All At Once" for the Richard brautigan inspired "Catfish Friend" which as always includes a hot jam section. The Luna Suite rocker "Ozone Blues" follows, and it spawns the first lengthy improv of the night, a methodical jam with fiery riffs that drifts effortlessly into another cut from the new album, the solemn and solitary "Own." Jed closes the first frame with a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Over The Hill And Far Away." Second set kicks off with the title track from Jed's new album "Multiply" which erupts into a prog-rock jam that stretches out to twenty-one minutes before a segue into another cut from the album "Feel." Next up is the bouncy "I Love You," which gives way to the third big jam of the night, a fast-paced affair with synths and echoing guitar lines. It slides right into the tale of suburban longing "Open Road." to close out the set. The encore features the winter themed "The Freeze." This is a solid show for a tour opener, without much rust showing through. It features alot of songs off Jed's new album, along with at least three hot jams. Well worth a listen. Enjoy!
