View NotesIt's almost Halloween night so you know what that means! It's time for Jed's annual Halloween show! This year is a wild one, which is good because it was gonna be hard to top last year's Halloween's Past theme. But Jed and Moondance manage to create something amazing: Jammin Jed's AI Halloween! An audio-visual journey that took the audience deep into the world of bits and bytes as they race to reset the code and save themselves.

It starts out with Jed unveiling 'Spectra,' a new AI technology designed to create live improvisational music based on the biometrics of the audience, and delivered through Jed's instruments and Moonie's lights. It sounds great, until Spectra malfunctions and suddenly the audience finds themselves sucked into the artificial world! The story unfolds through eleven new songs as the audience makes their way through digital labyrinths, firewall forests and algorithmic jungles until they make it to Circuitry City, where they must reboot Spectra's core in order to free themselves and get back home. It's an amazing voyage through light and music, embellished by Spectra's disembodied voice guiding the audience to the climactic ending. A true whirlwind that definitely rivals all other halloweens!

Second set is a bit more normal, with Spectra shut down and reality restored. It opens with "Latest Craze" and a nice jam into "Orbit" a spacey tune from the previous year's show. "The Need For Love" comes next and also spawns a great improv jam. You can tell Jed is making up for the fact that he was limited in the first set by a script that didn't leave alot of room for jamming. The emotional "Feel" emerges from the jam, followed by fan favorite "Brother Love" and "Where The Mountains Meet The Sea" to close the set. The encore slot features Neil Young's rock & roll classic "Cinnamon Girl."

Jed's Halloween shows are always a blast and this one certainly delivers a different experience. The focus wasn't so much on the costume theme, but rather driven by a creative vision that Jed and Moonie brought to life incredibly well. Definitely give this one a spin, but be prepared for a wild ride through the code! Enjoy!
