View NotesJammin Jed returns to the stage for his first solo show in nearly four months! And it's for a good cause as he joins a stellar lineup of musicians at the Moonrise Music Festival, a benefit concert for Moondance Parx, his friend and lighting director. Lots of friends and community members showed up to help raise money for Moonie, and the vibe and venue was filled with love! Jed opens up his first set with "Rolling Waves" which seems so perfect given the life challenge everyone was there to help navigate. He follows it up with "Time And Tide," another perfectly reflective tune for the occasion, and then delivers a rocking version of "Always Alone." The first big jam of the night comes next, out of "Doesn't" but before it gets there, Jed executes a really nice solo portion, including a trease of "Two Tickets To Paradise." The jam itself is a funky one that finds it's way into the somber yet optimistic cut off Jed's 2010 'All At Once' album, "Sunlight." A rousing "Slipping Through My Hands" closes out the first frame. Second set opens with a monster "Victim Of The Rhythm," comfortable in it's usual spot and delivering a 20+ minute jam that is bouncy and fun. A nice spacey segue leads into a newer tune, "Lost In The Stars," which is fast becoming a favorite amongst some fans. The only cover song of the night follows, with Jed serving up VU's "Rock And Roll," with a nice solo section to end it. One of Moonie's favorite tunes is up next, the always outrageous "Throw It Down The Hill." Jed's pop-rocker "Still In Luv With U," closes out the set, and since there's another musician up right after him, there is no encore. But included here on the recording is a nice sound check jam. It's great to have Jed back and this is a solid outing considering he hasn't played in some months. It reminds us what we have to look forward to if and when Jed announces his next tour. Enjoy!
