View NotesJed Tour makes a stop on Jed's "home turf" at Commune Utopia in Second Life! This was the third show on Jed's Winter Tour 2023, and it's a super fun one that took place on the beach at Commune with an amazing light show by Moondance Parx. This show has a strong "TV" theme to it, as it kicks off with "Making Our Dreams Come True," the Lavern & Shirley theme song. in honor of Cindy Williams. There's also alot of GuRGLe tunes in this show, with "Black Molly" in the second slot followed by the Gary Tyler penned "Stronger Instead" in the third position. "Stronger" opens up into the first major jam of the night which is an upbeat improv with reverberating guitars, xylohphone and a tease of the "Addams Family Theme" in honor of Lisa Loring who played Wednesday in the original TV show. After a bit more jamming, Jed segues into a tune that debuted at his 2022 Halloween show, the bouncy "Listen To Nature" with it's positive eco-message. The fan favorite "Catfish Friend" swims up next, followed by the early Jed tune "I Know There's Something." Bluegrasser "Used To Feel Good" closes the set on high note. Second set clocks in at over an hour but it's only five songs, which means it's got some jamming going on. Right off the bat Jed opens the set with "The Story Of Shirtless Joe," and extends it to a nearly twenty minute jam that hints at Phish's "Tweezer." It transitions nicely into a bustout cover that Jed hasn't played live since 2014, the Fleetwood Mac song "Landslide." Another GuRGLe era tune is up next, the war epic "Friendly Burial," which opens up into a 20+ minute jam featuring some nice keys and soaring guitar lines. It stumbles into "Ungratefully Dead," an odd little tune with lyrics penned by Papa Jed. The set closer is the pop-rocker "Still In Luv With U," and encore is a super fun one with "Nouns," a tribute to the 50th Anniversary of Schoolouse Rock. This is a really fun show that takes you back to some of the TV shows you probably grew up with, and also visits the 90's with several GurGLe era songs. Throw in a few tasty jams, a bustout of "Landslide" and a standout "Catfish" and you've got a show well worth a listen! Enjoy!
