View NotesIt's the penultimate show on Jammin Jed's 2023 Europe Tour! This one is a return to Secondlife venue "The Shack" based in the U.K. Last year Jed played here with Lexus Melodie, but this time his is solo, delivering his full two set rock music jam show! The show opens gently with Jed's blueser "Miss Lizzy" but gets interesting quickly with a new song debut in the second slot, a prog-rock space themed epic called "Lost In The Stars." It's the first of many debuts at this show as Jed treats the audience with a deep look into his catalog archive. Case in point, the third song "My Tune" has only been played live twice by Jed in over 600 shows. It's a bit rusty, be we hope he brings this one back fully! The GuRGLe era "Old Man Miller" bats clean up and hits a grand slam with a killer jam that is bouncy and melodic, streatching out over 20 minutes before it segues into one the best "Meredith's" in a while. It's a beautiful little instrumental that relies on feeling and Jed does it some good justice here. The "Come Tomorrow" set closer that follows seems a bit out of place. Second set opens with a cut from Jed's 2010 'All At Once' album called "Lead Me" which has a nice rock & roll vibe. It opens up into the second big jam of the night which features sultry rhtyhms and scorching guitar lines. It transitions into another live debut, a rock ballad called "In The Eyes," off an osbcure unpublished compendium of Jed's from the 1990's called 'Butterfly Dreams.' Another live debut follows it, the fun, bouncy "Secret Dance," from around the same time period. Jed goes back to the 'All At Once' album for "On The Shelf" which produces one more nice improv jam, a upbeat affair that finds its way into the bluegrassy set closer "Slipping Through My Hands." Jed keeps up the tour's encore theme of U.S. locales with the Partridge Family's "Point Me In The Direction of Albuquerque." This is a really solid show with three live debuts and a few rarities, along with several great jams and standout version of "Meredith." Don't skip this one. Enjoy!
