View NotesThe Jed Luckless 2023 Europe Tour makes a sudden detour to Rovers Return in the U.K. after a cancellation at Forever, and it turns out to be for the best as Jed delivers a rockin' show full of great tunes and killer jams! The show opens slowly with "Listen To The Angels" but escalates quickly with "Look Out Here Comes A Comet!" from Jed's Tales of Halloween Past show and a nice long "Asteroid Jam" section in its tail. The instrumental middle-eastern inspired "Valley Of The Saints" pairs nicely with it, followed by another intrumental, "Outside Looking In." Something a bit more energetic is in order next with the pop-rocker "Nothings Ever Free" which opens up into the first big jam of the night which features some echoing guitar riffs and bouncy keys before sliding into the emotional "I Love You" to close the set out nicely. Second set opens in style with a monster "Dancing In The Streets" that extends to thirty-four minutes and includes a boppin' jam, a drum solo and a spacey section before twirling into "The Story Of Shirtless Joe," which also spawns a nice improv jam featuring an infectious rhythm and meoldic guitar lines. This one segues into the mellow and reflective "Uprooted," before the title track from 2010's "All At Once" album makes a nice finish to the set. Jed sticks with his 'American' themed encores this tour and treats the crowd to Led Zeppelin's "Going To California." Sometimes the unexpected shows are the best, and this one tests that theory for sure. It's a great show with a solid setlist and some hot jams, but it's the "Dancing In The Streets" that makes this a must-listen! Enjoy!
