View NotesThe Jed Luckless 2023 Europe Tour rolls on to the United Kingdom with a return to Indeedy in Secondlife! Last year Lexus Melodie joined Jed at this venue, but this year he's rocking a two set solo show, but he's not alone. This is one of the few shows on the tour that Moondance Parx actually made it to with her light rig! This of course makes for a great night! The show opens with "Alignments" off Jed's "Roll Over" album, followed by one of his "All At Once" album, the always popular "Catfish Friend." It's a hot take on the Richard Brautigan insipired tune, stretching out to ten minutes. Next up is the unreleased original "The 86," one of Jed's favorite songs to stretch out in Type 1, with this one nearing fifteen minutes. It seems like Jed is in a jammy mood, and that becomes all too clear as he opens up "On Hold" into an eighteen minute jam featuring a fantastic groove and melodic guitar solos. It segues nicely into the often chased "Secret Language," followed by Phish's "Poor Heart," a great choice for the set closer. Second set is a four song set, so you know it's gotta be special, and it is. There's a bit of a technical issue during setbreak, and you can tell it throws Jed off a bit on the "Lightship" opener, which even under normal circumstances has some uncommon and challenging chord progressions. But once Jed gets over the hump, he is off and running on a nearly twenty minute improv that soars through spacey keys and echoing guitars, landing in a killer ambience section with cosmic whammys, before sliding into the poignant "Some Notes On Lying." Jed's rocker "Give It Up" is next, with its driving backbeat and sultry lyrics. It spawns another monster jam, this one over twenty minutes, with groovy organs and crunchy guitar riffs. It seamlessly shifts into the Trey Anastasio song "Architect," a fan favorite and a great choice to close the set. Jed tacks on the Monkees "Last Train To Clarksville" in keeping with his American themed encores on the tour. This was a special show in a cool venue with a great crowd and awesome lightshow. The vibe was right and the energy was there to produce a show full of killer jams and extended songs. Definitely a must listen! Enjoy!
