View NotesJammin Jed's 2023 Europe Tour continues with a stop in Denmark at Helle's Angels! This venue was on Jed's inaugural Europe Tour in 2017 and was celebrating its 15th Anniversary in Second Life! There aren't many venues that last that long, so it was an exciting celebration. Some issues on the grid made it a bit tough for fans to get into the show, and the parts of Moone's lighting rig weren't working, but Jed makes the most of things and rocks the stage! He opens the show gingerly with the whistling instrumental "The Hairdresser," but amps things up quickly with the grungy "Always Alone" followed by the Luna Suite opener "Ozone Blues." The fan favorite "Sugar Pop" is in the cleanup position, and it hits a home run with a rocking backbeat, a strong solo section and an extended jam that features new wave keys and rapid guitar lines, and segues into another Luna tune "The Constable." The first cover of the night closes the set, Phish's "My Sweet One" with an extended storytime treatment in which Jed tells the tale of "Catenhagen" the resident Helle's Angels cat. Second set saw more people flow into the venue, amping up the energy for opener "Latest Craze," which explodes into a 26 minute jam with more keys and some nice melodic guitar work from Jed. It slides effortlessly into the Tales of Halloween's Past song "Orbit," only the third time it's been played. Jed's western romp "Ride With The Devil" gallops in next, with it's sidekick "One And..." Another Phish cover is next, a great take on "Everything's Right," with a perfect tempo and mood that spawns one more big jam, a funky affair that winds its way into the bluegrasser "Where The Mountain Meets The Sea," to close the set. The 'American' themed encores continue at this show with a cover of John Mellencamp's "Pink Houses" This is a pretty hot show that starts out slowly but continues to gain momentum throughout. It's a solid setlist with some favorites and a few excellent jams. Definitely worth a listen for the "Sugar Pop," the "Latest Craze > Orbit" combination, and the "Everything's Right." Enjoy!
