View NotesThe JLB returns for the final show in a three-show run at The Goat in Secondlife. Drummer Pete Martine was sidelined at the last minute due to a scheduling issue, so founding member Eric Stramiello steps in on the kit, joining Jed, Ken and Mark for the first time in nearly five years. It's a completely spontaneous Jed Luckless Band reunion and it sparkles with the energy of old friends together once again.

The show kicks off with a nod to Stram, his theme, the Phish song "Twist," with a nice solo portion to warm up the band. Mark Gutenplan's original "Englishtown" is next, with a nice jam and segue into a groovin version of the Beatles "Dear Prudence." Kenny Kaufman takes the mic for some "Gumbo," then it's back to originals with the Jed Luckless song "The Freeze," which Strambo settles right back into nicely. There's a nice sense of history here, with Jed recounting some of it, as well as a birthday celebration for Kenny which adds extra warmth to the event. First set wraps up with the Robert Hunter dedication "Brown Eyed Women," followed by a nicely jammed out version of Phish's "Wolfman's Brother."

Second set is Grateful Dead heavy, opening with a 'shaky' "Shakedown Street" but moving quickly into one of the highlight jams of the night which flows nicely into the JLB classic "Queen Lucille." What comes next is a powerful mid-set combination of the velvet Underground tune "Rock and Roll" paired with a jam into Phish's "Dirt" followed by Jed's pop-rocker "Still In Luv With U." But there's still alot of gas in the tank, with the band sqqueezing out two more Robert Hunter tunes, "Jack Straw," featuring a wicked guitar solo from Jed, and a poignant but creaky "Brokedown Palace." The gang closes the show with a high-energy "First Tube" leaving everyone on their feet with a smile on their face!

This is a special show featuring the rare reunion of the founding members the Jed Luckless Band, and it delivers a powerful musical and emotional punch. Enjoy!
