View NotesThe Jed Luckless 2019 World Tour continues with a stop in Australia at Spirit of the Outback in Secondlife! This show took place on May 12, 2019 and featured two sets of original rock music from Jammin Jed, with an amazing light show from Moondance Parx in SL. It was a Mothers Day show on a Sunday with an early morning start on the east coast of the USA and a late showtime in Oz. After a brief introduction and Happy Mother's Day greeting, Jed opens with an original off his 2010 "All At Once" album, the instructional "On The Shelf." It's a nice mellow start for a Sunday morning, but Jed takes it up a notch next with a sixteen minute version of "Listen To The Angels" paired with a Mother's Day dedication of "Meredith." The jam between the two is sweet with electric organ and drums anchoring guitar riffs yearning to fly. They ascend sublimely before landing dramatically in the instrumental "Meredith," which may be the GOAT version. GuRGLe era tune "The Freeze" pops up next, also with a nice lofty jam that winds its way into the middle-eastern inspired "Valley Of The Saints," which is also a great version. A rarer, newer Jed tune closes the set, an interesting "progressive" piece with a relgious theme called "Twelve." Second set is a bit short, since there was another show following Jed, but he manages to squeeze in a couple rockin jams, along with a strong versions of his 90's single "Slowly Fades," and the emotional "It Ain't Living." The rest of the set is filled out with cover songs, including the obligatory AC/DC cover for the Aussies, which this time out is an explosive "TNT," the Gregg Allman tune "Sweet Melissa," and a super-hot version of Phish's "Tube" to close out the show. There was no time for an encore. This is an interesting show, feeling disjointed at times, but also delivering some of the best live versions of certain songs along with a couple really hot jams. The Angels/Meredith, Freeze/Valley Slowly/Living combos are all worth checking out and if you're an AC/DC or Phish fan, then "TNT" and "Tube" are the must listens. Enjoy!
