View NotesThe Jed Luckless 2019 Fall Tour rolls on, through the Roadside Music Club in Secondlife. It's a new venue for the Jed heads and it was in the rough part of Clover City so Jed brings the heat, but still no lights (out of commission from last time at The Goat Waterfall stage!). Jed opens things energetically with his fast-paced original "The Need For Love," settling into a more bluesy vibe with "Lead Me" in the second slot. He gets serious again with the calculating "Multiply" coupled with "One And" along with it's companion "Ride With The Devil." There's a syncopated jam in between with wah wah guitar and some blazing leads. Jed's prayful ballad "Begging For Mercy" is next, with a bouncy if out of place "Where The Mountains Meet The Sea" to close the first set. Second set opens with one of the highlights of the show, a 25+ minute version of the brooding "Water Glass" which delivers a hot piano and guitar solo section before overflowing into a lengthy improv jam featuring a bouncy rhythm, electric organ and drippy leads. The "Come Tomorrow" that follows is half empty at best but a nice version of the instrumental "Outside Looking In," makes up for it. Jed moves into cover tune territory for the rest of the show, starting with a Phish pairing of VU's "Rock and Roll" with "Bug" followed by the Robert Hunter dedication of the night, "Friend Of The Devil." AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" puts an exclamation point on a devlish evening at Roadside! This is a wicked show with a few fiery jams and a hell of a setlist, from a tour where Jed is bringing the heat night after night! Enjoy!
