View NotesIt's the final show of the Jed Luckless 2019 World Tour, bringing high energy rock and roll to Secondlife venues around the globe! It was a fourteen show run and this is the capper to it all, set high atop the bluffs of "Goatville" at the Mumbling Goat in Secondlife. Jed is joined by Moondance on lights for the tour finale and the pair deliver a lengthy show with a variety of material and a dynamic vibe throughout. The show starts off a quarter after the hour on a fun note with "Quarter To Four," always a fun way to kick things off. But Jed quickly gets serious with "Give It Back," the jam rocker which he proceeds to open up for over a quarter hour. Incidentally it's the third G.I.B. on the tour and the only original to be played more than twice. The jam segues suddenly into a nice slow version of the bluesy "Old Town Hall," after which Jed takes a break to welcome everyone. Jed's inner-city original "I Love You" is next, and it spawns the highlight jam of the first set, featuring classic rock organ and biting guitar riffs. The instrumental "Outside Looking In" follows and is a nice change of pace, setting up the first cover song of the night, Taj Mahal's "Corrina" which has some special meaning for Jed, but probably more as a Phish cover (see 12/28/18). It's back to an original for the set closer, a perfectly appropriate "Lightship" considering the amazing light show Moonie was creating over the city below. Second set opens with the reflective "Time And Tide" which uncharacteristically swells to a heady jam before Jed busts a string. He shifts to the drum kit for a D-Day memorial and thank you to those who served, and then has his own personal battle changing the string onstage, before emerging into Pink Floyd's "Fearless," a cover tune Jed has played a few times before. A couple cuts from Jed's "Luna" suite are next, his commentary on big business "Incorporation" with it's regular partner "ARC." He stays in the Luna suite next with "Oh My Star," but from there blasts off into deep space with a 27 minute jam featuring a hot drum solo, trance inducing rhythms and wicked guitar layers. Jed's not done quite yet, closing the set on a high note with "The Kid That Tried To Fly." A two song encore featuring the fun but twisted "Throw It Down The Hill" and the Partridge Family song "Point Me In The Direction of Albuquerque" puts a cap on a lengthy and dynamic concert. Jed's 2019 World Tour produced alot of music and some very unique concert events around the virtual globe. This show really epitomizes that, with a mix of great original songs and a bit of comical hijinx along with some serious moments and intense jams. The "Corrina" is a favorite, and the "Oh My Star" jam is worth a listen for sure, and if you're a David Cassidy fan, don't skip the encore. Enjoy!
