View NotesHere's a show from the Jed Luckless "500 Tour" which took place in late 2018 and celebrated Jed performing over 500 live shows since 2009. This stop was at a new Secondlife venue for the Jed Heads called "The Velvet," and the fans showed up in force to bring some great energy to the concert. The show opens slowly with Jed's original "Lead Me" off his 2010 "All At Once" album, followed by the quiet "I Know There's Something," which dovetails nicely into a dedication to poet Christine Lanfranco with "Missing Us" which features her lyrics. Things start to heat up with "The 86" which produces the first long jam of the night, a rhythmic jam with some amazing guitar work from Jed that eventually makes its way into the reflective "Uprooted." The originals continue, with an instrumental called "The Hairdresser" from the "Outisde Looking In" movie soundtrack, and the set closer, the rocker "Each And Every Day." Second set features a nice long stretch of non-stop music, starting with the historical tune about John Brown "2000 Pikes," which gives way to the next hot jam of the evening. It's an fast paced jam featuring some nice synth, and when it's over, "Jackie" emerges from the smoke. Things pick up again quickly with "The Freeze" and another lenghty jam that heats up fast and features some nice piano embellishment. It fades to nothingness from which comes the gentle sound of the keys, as Jed delivers a rare take on "Celebrate Instead" performed alone on the ivories. Jed finally takes a breath after 45 minutes of music, then launches into the set closer, the bouncy calypso like "By And Bye." He tacks on a lenghty encore, the only cover tune of the night, Velvet Underground's "Rock And Roll," into which he inserts teases of "Sweet Nothing" and "Dear Prudence." This is a hot show from one of Jed's most rockin' tours, featuring a slew of original music, some fantastic jams and the special energy of a new venue with a great crowd. Enjoy!
