View NotesThe JLB returns to the virtual stage with a stop on their 2018 Fall Tour at The Mumbling Goat in Secondlife. The concert was part of a Singer-Songwriter festival in SL, so it's got a festive vibe and alot of great original music. The show opens in chill fashion with a mellow version of Jed Luckless GuRGLe era classic "The Freeze" then ramps up the funk a bit with a rockin "Sugar Pop." The band gets bluesy next, with the Luckless song "Far Gone Blues," but they quickly groove it up again with "Give It Back" which produces the first solid jam of the evening. The jam makes a slow rhythmic tranistion into an eerie sounding "Valley OF The Saints" after which the band lightens the mood again with the popular "Moved To The Country." Mark Gutenplan leads us through his classic "Remember This Night" with another nice jam before a segue into "Ozone Blues" to wrap up the first set. Second set is a bit shorter, but it features a number of solid originals and a few nice jam moments. The fast paced "Maserati" starts it off with a bang and Jed's civil war history song "2000 Pikes" keeps it going with a jam into the somber "Listen To The Angels." Kenny Kaufman reminces about a time gone by in "FM Rock," which produces another nice jam before Pete Martine brings the calypso vibe in on "By And Bye" to close the set. The encore is the only cover of the night, but it's "The Song With Words and Stuff" and a popular original song from another SL artist named Cailidgh Spires. Always a fun way to end a show. This is a great concert that focuses entirely on the JLB's original music, and features tight versions of their tunes coupled with some energetic jams and a fun vibe throughout. Enjoy!
