View NotesThe Jed Luckless Band continues their 2018 Fall Tour with this stop at the Blarney Stone in Secondlife. It was an early one on a Sunday afternoon, and Mark had to depart after first set. But that makes for a fun show with a Gutenplan heavy first set and just a two-song second set featuring some sweet jam exploration by the remaining JLB trio. The show started late and Pete swoops in on the drums as Jed, Ken and Mark were already playing the opener, "Moved To The Country." It's a "derby style" start and great way to kick off the show. All cylinders fire next on "Maserati", followed by the groove driven "Give it Back," with the only extended jam of the first set. It leads into "2000 Pikes" which features some nice vocals by Jed. A combo of Gutenplan tunes is up next, with Mark singing "Road Trip" followed by "FM Rock" which is led nicely on vox by Kenny Kaufman. The band's uptempo "Used To Feel Good" ends the set and features a fun tribute to Burt Reynolds and the Bandit. With Mark absent for second set and a hard stop at the venue, it's apparent the fellas wanted to push the envelope for fun. They warn the audience first, then launch into a thirty minute Victim of The Rhythm. The song itself features a few jam sections, including one led by Kenny Kaufman on bass. The jam makes it's way through various rock and funk oriented movements, featuring some great leads by Jammin Jed Luckless and an awesome drum solo from Pete Martine who does an amazing job holding down the entire lenghty jam. They bring it home with a melodic, uplifting jam that slides seamlessly into "Still In Luv With U" which emerges to close the two-song, thiry-five minute set. A brief "Queen Lucille" encore is tacked on to wrap up the show. This is a fun, afternoon concert, featuring a solid set of JLB originals and a second set with an epic jam definitely worth checking out. Enjoy!
