View NotesHere's one from the Jed Luckless "500 Tour" in 2018 which celebrated Jed's 500th performance. This one took palce at Nantucket Yacht Club in Secondlife and was a special CD Release Party for Jed's "Europe 2017" album which features live cuts from his 2017 Europe Tour. The show opens with the first cut from that album "Alignments," a rockin tune known to many as the "D&D song." After a brief Europe 2017 CD plug (all attendees received a free download of the album), Jed launches into the second cut from the CD, the Richard Brautigan inspired "Catfish Friend." Jed pauses to send out the next tune to his dad who was not doing well at the time, and it's one of Papa Jed's favorite songs, the GuRGLe era tune "Old Man Miller." it's followed by the bluesy Penobscot Bay inspired "Miss Lizzy." The only real jam of the set is up next, and it's a fiery improv that erupts out of the rhythmic "Valley Of The Saints" and finds it's way into the hopeful "Lightship." The bluegrassy "Used To Feel Good" closes the first frame. Second set opens in perfect Jed fashion with the rocker and jam vehicle "Victim Of The Rhythm" which spawns the longest jam of the night, a groove oriented jam with wah-wah guitar and synth overtones that winds it's way into a heavenly "Listen To The Angels." The Frazier Sinkler collaboration "Water Glass" is up next, but it's a short version more akin to the studio version than the 25+ minute version on the Europe 2017 CD (which if you haven't heard you should check out!). The title track from Jed's 2016 "Roll Over" album comes next, followed by another dedication to Papa Jed with the controversial and rarely played "So Much For O.J." There's just enough time left for one encore and Jed makes the most of it with a beautiful, smoke filled version of the Trey Anastasio song "Architect." This is a cool show that highlights some great cuts from the Europe 2017 album along with a ton of other great original Jed music and a couple of rocking jams. There's only one cover tune in the whole show, but it's a fun one for the Trey fans out there. Enjoy!
