View NotesThe Jed Luckless Band hits Panorama in Secondlife, returning to the sight of residency the band did at the venue in June 2018. Their return does not disappoint as Jed, Mark, Ken and Pete deliver two solid sets of their originals with a couple sweet jams and a few Phish tunes thrown in for good measure. First set kicks off in high-gear with the band's furiosly fast instrumental "Maserati" followed by "Moved To The Country" which features a nice long intro with a bit of a Doors tease from Kenny Kaufman. Jed takes us to history class with "2000 Pikes" which features a nice melodic jam that leads into the tour's first appearance of the ballad "Smile Forever" and it's a beauty. The phirst of two covers comes up next and it's a tasty serving of "Gumbo" featuring great vocals led by Kenny with Pete Martine on backups and Mark Gutenplan working the organ. Mark stays in the spotlight for the next tune, with his original "Road Trip," which produces one of the longer jams of the evening, a high energy affair that features hot guitar work from Jed Luckless and some fantastic dynamics and syncopation from the entire band. The jam slides perfectly into the funky "Sugar Pop" to close a rockin first set. The second set opens with "Give It Back" which as usual gives way to one of the extended jams of the night, with crunchy riffs and funky rhythms that transition into "The Freeze." The bluesy "Queen Lucille" makes an appearance next with a stining guitar solo from Jed. The calypso-esque "By and Bye" follows and it's a bit of a hurricane, which makes the subsequent "Used To Feel Good" all the more appropriate. A peppy version of the pop-rocker "Still In Luv With U" is up next, followed by the JLB debut of a classic Jed tune called "So Much For O.J." A phun Phish cover "Suzy Greenberg" closes out the evening. This is another great show from the JLB on their 2018 Fall Tour featuring a bunch of tight newer originals along with some really tasty jams and a couple fun Phish covers. Enjoy!
