View NotesJLB 2.0 returns to Panorama for the last of three shows in their June 2018 run, with Kenny Kaufman back in the mix this time around with the band sounding tight and energized and obviously having a great time. The venue was packed with a crowd of thirty plus fans, calling songs and dancing around the room. Energy was high and the music rocked.

First set opens with the Grateful Dead's "Brown Eyed Women," with K-man at the vocal helm. Mark Gutenplan is up next, breaking out his rare semi-hollow for "Remember This Night" and rocking a cool jam that segues into Jed's first song of the night, "The Freeze." The JLB classic is cool and crisp. Some Phish comes up next, with the fun "Gumbo," paired here with an extended piano solo from Mark with some nice bass and key interplay. Jed joins again, leading the band into his original "Listen To The Angels" which spawns a wicked jam that includes a nice guitar transition into "the fastest 'Smile Forever' forever." The fun and bouncy "Used To Feel Good" closes the first set.

The band carries the momentum from first set right into set II, opening strongly with "Give It Back," which features one of the longer jams of the night. It's an intense, winding jam that moves from dark to light then takes a nice turn into the Jed song "Moved To The Country." Unfortunately a technical failure cut the recording just as the distinctive "MTTC" riffing appears and the entire song is lost, which is a shame since it was a great rendition.

But the fellas get back on track, lightening things up with a fun dedication, their debut of U2's "With Or Without You." Kenny takes the vocals again on Mark's original "FM Rock" which features a few classic rock teases from Jed and a brief drum section from Pete Martine before Kenny's "Saw Mill River" reprises itself from the first show of the run. "Celebrate Instead" comes next, another song the band didn't have time for in their June 5th show, and it's sweet version of the bittersweet song. Velvet Underground's "Rock And Roll" gives the band one last chance to rock out and a request for Cailidgh Spire's "The Song With Words And Stuff" wraps up the show perfectly.

This is a tight and energetic performance from The Jed Luckless Band featuring a great setlist, some sweet jams and a ton of fun music and vibes from the boys. Enjoy!
