View NotesJLB is back for the final show of their 2018 March Madness run at Nantucket Yacht Club in Secondlife with the return of special guest percussionist Mike Dickman!

It's the last of three shows by the Jed Luckless Band in a run that was meant to be four shows but had one cancelled. It's also the band's seventh anniversary and they celebrate by filling the setlist with tunes played at their first live show on March 30, 2011.

The show opens with one of those tunes, the Grateful Dead song "Jack Straw," which was one of the first Dead tunes the band played together. Jed talks a bit about the March Madness run and thanks everyone for seven years of great times and music before the band launches into one of their most played Phish covers, "Sand" paired here with a punchy  jam full of killer effects and bouncy percussion that slides sublimely into "Ghost." The now rarely played title track from Jed's "All At Once" album is next, followed by Kenny Kaufman's rendition of "Gumbo." An uncharacteristic "Gumbo" jam erupts into frenetic funk and rockin riffs before easing into the Luckless ballad "Smile Forever." A "16 seed" version of the band's grassy original "Forgot To Forget You" closes out the set.

Second set opens swiftly out of the gate with JLB's high-octane instrumental "Maserati," and quickly goes turbo with the classic rocker "Not Fade Away." The band puts together a fantastic Grateful Dead combo, pairing NFA with "Deal," and inserting an awesome drum jam from Pete Martine and Mike Dickman along with an intense and fiery space jam segment featuring piano and other sounds from Mark Gutenplan on the keys. A crowd pleasing version of the David Bowie classic "Space Oddity" has everyone singing along before a bouncy rendition of Jed's calypso tune "By and Bye" wraps up the set.

The encore includes a fun version of "Handle With Care" by the Traveling Wilburys, which is a debut for JLB, and an energetic "Suzy Greenberg" a Phish tune which has closed many of the band's shows in the past seven years. 

This is a nostalgic show and it makes for a great ending to another fun run for The JLB! Enjoy!
