Taper Notes:
View NotesSet 2 liner notes mention the mics plugged into a "multi-box" then the Sony TCD5M. This was a box which took one pair of mic inputs having either 4 or 6 stereo pair arranged in parallel so everyone got the same output signal in order to get as many "lead decks" as it had outputs. # From end of Stella Blue through Not Fade Away, batteries were running out so tape speed slowed, so playback got faster until it sounds like Mickey Mouse toward the end. The Not Fade Away track borrowed from the below cite. # Substituted shnid: 95694, track d3t04 NFA (Kirshner|Miller AUD (FOB) Sony ECM-220T) for damaged NFA t09

View NotesThe Wav files for Set I was corrupt and unreadable/unplayable. I read Set I into DC8.5 Forensics software, and rewrote the header so that it was listed as 16 bits/44.1kHz. It then played and sounded right. After that, the only processing was a little bit of editing (fade in at the beginning of the show) and some equalization to counter the pre-emphasis and roll the bass off slightly below 100 hz to cut down on the boominess. patches: (FOB Schoeps CMC 441 > Oade M118 > Sony TC D5)> DATs > CDR > WAV > SHN (24294) 106 - Cassidy (entire track) 107 - Althea (entire track) 108 - Let It Grow (entire track) 201 - Samson & Delilah (drop out just before first verse) BCE de-emphasis curve (modified PCM de-emphasis) applied AUD> ? > CDR > EAC > SHN > WAV(re-tracked) > SHN (12296) 206 - Drums (from about 1:00-12:50)

Oade Recording (FOB Schoeps CMC 441> Oade M118 > Sony TC D5)>DATs > CDR > WAV > SHN
Taper Notes:
View NotesOade Recording (FOB Schoeps CMC 441> Oade M118 > Sony TC D5)>DATs > CDR > WAV > SHN Very clean transfer. This recording arrived on CDR already mastered to take full adavantage of the CD dynamic range, seamless, and expertly tracked. Originally tracked on 3 discs with set 1 on a single disc and the second set split between space and truckin'. Either way it was seamless so you can burn three discs if you prefer. End of Brokedown is brokedown at 05:03 with the remainder of the song provided by a multianalog generation SBD recording from the show.
