Matrix by Hunter Seamons using Final Cut Pro (FLAC > AIFF > Final Cut > Soundtrack Pro > AIFF CD tracking via Audacity > FLAC16 via xACT w/meta-tagging) June 17, 2024
Taper Notes:
View NotesThe SBD source generally ran from 0.9% to 1.1% slow and was pitch corrected as needed. The older "Paul Scotton and Joani Walker" SBD source (2006) was preferred over the newer "Don Pearson" source (2019). The sound is virtually the same between the two sources, but after a bunch of A/B comparisons of different sections, including conducting several blind experiments that produced totally consistent results, we concluded that the Scotton/Walker source sounded SLIGHTLY brighter and fuller. The Pearson source was a tiny bit more subdued sounding. The 2018 transfer of Ted's audience tape was preferred over the 2021 remaster for this matrix project. Click removed in Half-Step. No EQ needed.
