Matrix by Hunter Seamons using Final Cut Pro (FLAC>AIFF>Final Cut>WAV>FLAC) September 21, 2008 Notes: 1) Occasional static/clicks/pops in the sources. 2) Cuts in the SBD between some songs. Some dropouts in C.C. Rider, and briefs cuts in LL Rain, Drums, and Other One. Other One also has some brief, shifty channel business. 3) The show appears to be seamless.

Master recording by Tom Strizak (*first show with new mics) 2- Sennheiser MD441 mounted in standard stereo configuration< (mic stand at approx. 7.5' height) > Sony TC-D5M (dolby - On B) > TDK MA90 Cassette. Location: Taper Section on lawn slightly right of center approx. 10' back from last row of pavillion seating. This resulted in a combination of sound mainly coming directly from delay speakers which were used to propagate sound outward to the lawn area, and just a small portion of the sound coming from inside the pavillion.
Lineage:
Analog Master cassette played back on Nakamichi CR-1A > Behringer XR-18 audio mixer > ZOOM H-5 digital recorder 24bit/48Khz WAV > Reaper v7.61 *DAW (final audio editing and mastering) > Audacity *DAW (tracking and conversion from WAV file to FLAC 24bit 48khz file set) > LMA for upload (*DAW = Digital Audio Worksatation)
Taper Notes:
View NotesNotes: There is approx. 30 seconds of Brown Eyed Women missing and the splice is slightly rough. Tape flip at beginning of Looks Like Rain is crossfaded and not harsh. Tape was paused between songs so unfortunately some of the actual show context is lost. Overall very pleasant listening and nice quality audio.

Matrix by Hunter Seamons using Final Cut Pro & Soundtrack Pro (FLAC > AIFF > Final Cut w/EQ [set 1] > Soundtrack [set 2] > AIFF CD tracking via Audacity > FLAC16 via xACT w/meta-tagging) May 29, 2025
Taper Notes:
View NotesNotes: Significant upgrade. Set 1 was re-matrixed from scratch, with a different approach to the mix and more exacting sync. Set 2 uses a newer PCM Master source of the SBD. Ray Ackerman's audience tape, #145353 (4/4/18), patches 4 seconds at the beginning of Jim Oade's recording where Half-Step gets cut. As noted by Charlie, it sounds like there was some prior processing done to the "CM > Dat > CD" source for set 1. Some initial SBD vocal mix fluctuations in Half-Step and Mama Tried. Two tiny cuts in C.C. Rider are now patched. There were also two hiccup anomalies that added minuscule duration to the song, which were removed. Soundtrack Pro was used to help clean these edits. 6-second cut in Looks Like Rain SBD is now patched. Some PA static occurs throughout the show. EQ was used for the first set SBD source only.

View NotesThis recording was done to capture as much as possable. There were no tape flips requiring fast forwarding or rewinding during the actual recording. Side A of the first tape was recorded then Side A of the second cassette. Everything was then fast forwarded at the break and the B Sides were recorded. Very little crowd noise has been removed. This is the last transfer of this tape. I did it for myself since I got much improved computer hardware. It is at a point were I am totally happy with the results I listen to. You are very welcome to a copy.
