Taper Notes:
View NotesA solid recording from cassettes marked "Master," but based on the way that the tapes played back, with Midnight Hour and Walking the Dog following Might As Well, and by how the audio overlapped when it was put back in order, this may have be a 1st gen cassette In any event, it's in set order now and pitch corrected against the Oade PCM. (Some crowd noise is missing here, so this runs a little shorter than the Oade version). Set II was also missing from the collection. Bruce Barnum was a Deadhead and an avid taper from the early 1980’s until his death in 2017 at age 48. Over the years, he taped dozens of Dead shows throughout the Northeast, and other concerts, some of which have not been heard since then. After his death, about 60 of his master cassettes turned up in a used record store in Hudson, NY. Some were bought by random people nostalgic for the days of cassettes. The rest were purchased by a fellow Deadhead and archivist. Bruce’s daughter, Jessica, had more, and was kind enough to lend them to be digitized. Many of these recordings sound excellent for their age. They are Bruce's legacy. Thanks to Charlie Miller, Scott Clugstson and others who have helped bring them to light. Enjoy! --mhg :: 2021-01-11

Taper Notes:
View Notesnotes - d2t03 (tape change) - This recording was done to capture as much as possable. There were no tape flips requiring fast forwarding or rewinding during the actual recording. Side A of the first tape was recorded then Side A of the second cassette. Everything was then fast forwarded at the break. Side B of the second cassette was recorded and then Side B of the first cassette. After Side B of the second cassette ended I manually wound it past where Side A had end to be able to have extra tape to record the encore. - All disks can be combined on longer media for continuous play.
