View NotesJed Luckless returns to the Mumbling Goat for night two of a two night run, the first night featuring full JLB, and this one giving Jed a chance to spread his solo wings. Moondance Parx jons on the lights and the pair deliver a high energy show for a fantastic crowd. "The Story Of Shirtless Joe" opens the night, always a good starter, followed by the more mellow "Doigter" (in honor of France's appearance in the World Cup final and featuring "Mbappe!" shout outs). The old school "Catfish Friend" surfaces next, with a nice long solo section, and it's followed by the collaboration "Water Glass" which extends its solo section close to fifteen minutes. "The Need For Love" is up next, and Jed takes a left turn into "Chalkdust Torture" at the request of a phan in the audience, pairing it with a nice jam and another Phish song "Dirt." The Phish tour inspired original "Ass Gas Or Grass" closes out the strong first set. It's one of those shows where it could end at that point and you would be happy, but there's still a lot more music left! "Each And Every Day" opens the second frame and produces a nice jam with peppy tempo and echoing guitar lines that segues into the poignant and powerful "Feel." The fan favorite "Throw It Down The Hill" come next, streching nicely to almost ten minutes. The other massive jam of the night comes out of "Give It Back," a tune typically played with JLB but given a nice Jed solo treatment here, with an improv that features a rare drum solo from Jed and some trippy backwards guitar. The jam dissolves into the Luna piece "Oh My Star," followed by a stormy version of "Lightship." The title track from Jed's 2010 "All At Once" album closes out the set, and the encore is a Holiday preview with "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town." This is a a great solo Jed show after a long break, with a great setlist, a few phun covers, a couple of sweet jams, and a generally fantastic vibe throughout. Enjoy!
