View NotesThe JLB 2022 Fall Tour continues with another very unique show, performed on 9/28/22 at Commune Utopia in Second Life. Once again the band was down a member, with Kenny Kaufman sitting out at the last minute due to an unforseen circumstance. But Jed, Mark and Pete roll with it and deliver a fun show full of Beatles and Grateful Dead covers! The first set is an all Beatles affair, opening with "Sgt. Peppers" and "With And Little Help From My Friends." These aren't songs the band has ever played before, but they give it their best shot and all in all it's a ton of fun. "Taxman" is up next, followed by the mellow "Michelle" and the bluesy "Oh Darling." Mark Gutenplan does double duty on bass and keys, shining on "Let It Be," before the band finally opens things up into a nice jam out of "I Am The Walrus" and a ripping version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." The band shifts gears in second set, but sticks with the covers, featuring all Grateful Dead tunes. They open with "Eyes Of The World" and a nice long jam that winds its way into "Not Fade Away," with Pete Martine driving the beat. There's a nice "Come Together" in the middle of it, with an NFA reprise before a quick shift into "Going Down The Road Feeling Bad." The set closes with "Deal" and the fellas tack on a "Ripple" encore to close out the Dead set. They then throw in the only original of the entire night, the high energy "Ozone Blues," to remind the fans it IS a JLB show. This is weird and wild show with a JLB trio playing tunes they never have, but making the most of the situation to give the fans a fun night. Definitely one for the Beatles and Dead fans out there, with specific highlights being the Walrus jam into Guitar Gently Weeps and the Eyes jam in the second set. Enjoy!
