View NotesJLB is back for show #3 of 4 in their March Madness 2022 run in Secondlife! This time it's at The Dome, home court for Moondance Parx, who delivers an amazing light show with all of her best toys at her disposal. The band does their part too, putting up a serious show with some great tunes and great jams! First set opens energetically with some Grateful Dead and "Eyes Of The World," with Kenny Kaufman at the mic and the rest of the band eager to open the song up into an improv jam right from the tip off! The jam segues into Jed's "Side Door" a "song about addiction," which he follows up with a dedication to the recently departed Taylor Hawkins in "Listen To The Angels." The airy instrumental "Meredith" is up next, with an interesting full band take. Incidentally the band is celebrating their 11th anniversary, and they commemorate it with their classic "Queen Lucille." A newer tune called "The 86" comes next, featuring a strong guitar solo section, and it's followed by a deep cut to end the set, "GuRGLe Shuffe," with Mark Gutenplan shining on the keys. "I love second set" says Jed as he kicks off the second half with the JLB rocker "Give It Back," which as always produces one of he longest jams of the night. It's a funky jam featuring soaring guitar riffs over synths that gives way to a killer drum segment from Pete Martine and an intense space jam before transitioning into "Valley Of The Saints." The band takes a shot at moe.'s "Happy Hour Hero" next, always a fun one for fans, followed by a "wrecked" version of their newer original It's a song the band has only played once before, but sounds like it will become a solid rocker in the future. Another song only played once before coms next, Jed's poppy "Nothing's Ever Free." The band takes the opportunity to extend it into one last jam of the night before a nice segue into the bluegrassy "Used To Feel Good" to end the set. The Phish encore features "Bouncing Around The Room," a treat which the band hasn't played since 2018. This is super fun show at a comfortable venue with a great vibe from the very start. There's a few newer songs which need some attention from the band, but also some solid versions of favorites and a few killer jams. If you like drum stuff, this one's definitely for you. Enjoy!
