View NotesJed Luckless is back for a St. Patrick's Day party at the Gonjaland venue in Secondlife! It was five weeks or so since Jed had played and this was only his second show of the year, so there was alot of anticipation, and a massive crowd showed up to celebrate. That energy kicks in right away with a "Water Glass" opener and its energized solo section that clocks in over eleven minutes. Jed pulls things back a bit for "Doigter" next, but picks up the pace again with the always fun and crazy "Ass Gas or Grass." After a brief story about his Ukrainian heritage and a pleas for peace, Jed tees up "The Need For Love," which produces the first extended jam of the night, a fast paced rhythm featuring poppy synth, blazing guitars and a "Hava Nagila" tease. It gives way to the bouncy instrumental "The Hairdresser" from the 'Outside Looking In' soundtrack. The set closes out with the ever-paired cowboy tunes "One And" and "Ride With The Devil." The five song second set opens strongly with "Each And Every Day," which features a hot guitar solo section before it opens up into a bouncy jam featuring synthy guitars and a groovy organ solo. The lonely and somber "Own" emerges from the din. There's a consistent vibe and balance to this set, as "Doesn't" starts up seasmlessly, and also produces a hot guitar solo section and a massive improv jam, which is over 25 minutes and has Jed heavily working his new toy, the guitar synth pedal. It then transitions similarly into a mellow song, this time "Oh My Star," from Jed's 'Luna' Suite. The set closer is a great version of the always fun and popular "Throw It Down The Hill," and the encore is a special St. Patrick's Day selection, a cover of Cailidgh Spires' "The Leprechaun Song." This is a great show with tons of energy and a surprising amount of proficiency from Jed considering he's been on break from these songs for nearly three months! If you like Jed's originals, you'll dig this one, since both sets are all originals - the only cover song of the night is the encore. And if you like Jed's jams...well just listen...and enjoy!
