View NotesThe JLB 2022 Fall Tour kicked off with this high energy show at The Mumbling Goat in Secondlife on September 22, 2022 on the fall equinox. In fact the show started precisely at the moment that Fall began! It's been six months since JLB has been on stage together, and it is great to have them back along with Moondance Parx on the virtual light rig! The show opens nicely with one of the band's newer tunes, the rocker "Latest Craze" before settling into a perfectly timed "The Freeze," considering the chilly weather. The sea-shanty "Geneva Sue" floats up next, followed by the fun blueser "Old Town Hall," which really got the audience dancing. "The 86" takes flight next with its soaring solo section being a highlight of the first set. Mark Gutenplan takes the reigns next with a 45th Anniversary version of "Englishtown" paired with an awesome "Dear Prudence" with killer keyboard and guitar solos to wrap up the set. The second frame kicks off with a groove-oriented version of Phish song "Sand" that opens up into an 18 minute jam with some nice guitar and synth lines before a segue into Jed's "Moved To The Country." Jed calls out a few JLB first timers in the crowd before handing the mic to Kenny Kaufman to lead the band down the "Saw Mill River." The mid-song jam tranistions nicely into the middle-eastern instrumental "Valley Of The Saints," a song which Pete Martine always shines on. And then its back into a reprise of Saw Mill River, followed by a bust out of "All At Once" from Jed's 2010 solo album. The set ender is the up-tempo "Forgot To Forget You" complete with clapping segment. After a brief plug for Pete's new brewing venture, the band puts an exclamation on the evening the popular rocker "Hard To Handle." This is a really fun show...you can tell the band is ecstatic to be back together peforming for their fans. It's a high energy show with a great setlist and a few nice jams. If this is any indication of what's to come it's going to be a great JLB Fall Tour! Give this one a listen and enjoy!
