View NotesThe Jed Luckless Band is back for a make-up show in December since they cancelled a few shows on their 2022 Fall Tour. The band returns to The Mumbling Goat in Secondlife, one of their favorite venues, and as always a high energy crowd showed up to rock with the fellas. "Ozone Blues' opens the festivities, followed by a nice long jammy version of Phish's "Sand" which segues into the Led Zeppelin tune "Gallows Pole," a holdover from the band's impromptu Zeppelin night on 9/23/22. The "Sand" reprise at the end is a nice touch. A couple of Jed originals are up next with "The Last Show" and "The 86," the latter featuring a nice floaty jam with dueling guitars from Jed and Mark Gutenplan. Mark takes the mic next to lead the band through his song "Remember This Night" with a particularly strong outro section that opens up into the first jam of the night. The jam features some great interplay between Jed and Kenny Kaufman on bass and it segues very nicely into "Used To Feel Good" to cap off the set. Second set opens with "The Latest Craze" which spawns a nice long jam that starts out in a funky minor key but shifts nicely into a bouncy major that really lifts off, with a great beat provided by Pete Martine on drums. It transitions into a new song called "Red Light" from Jed's recent Halloween show. It's a work in progress, but still a cool bluesy addition to the mix. It's back to business as usual with the JLB hit "Sugar Pop" up next and another great jam that slides effortlessly into the indie style rocker "Always Alone." Kenny leads the vocals on "FM Rock" which pairs nicely with the Beatles tune "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." The popular pop-rocker "Still In Luv With U" closes out the set, and a holiday theme encore features Mark's rarely played "Rudy's Tune." This is a solid show from JLB, with some really tight jamming, a good setlist and a few of the band's newer tunes including a JLB debut. Enjoy!
