View NotesThe JLB 2022 Fall Tour continues with the first of two shows at The Dome in Secondlife! This venue is Moondance Parx's home field, so the light show was off the hook, and unlike the past two shows, the entire band was in attendance, so it was a full on JLB face melting affair! The show opens on an upbeat note with the JLB classic fan favorites "Sugar Pop" right out of the gate, followed by the Mark Gutenplan penned "Road Trip." In the third and fourth slots are a couple of the band's newer tunes, the alt-rock "Always Alone" and Jed's pastoral contemplation "The Birds Don't Know." In the fifth and six position the band delivers a couple of JLB debuts, covers of the GuRGLe tunes "Stronger Instead" and "Wheelbarrow Blues" paired with the first hot jam of the night. The bluegrasser "Where The Mountains Meet The Sea" is a nice up-tempo set closer. Second set opens with one of the band's consistent jam vehicles, the rocker "Give It Back," which opens up into a twenty minute jam that features some fiery guitar riffs, a nice ambient section and some killer backbeats delivered by Pete Martine on the drums. It settles into the JLB classic "Smile Forever," which dips a bit in the middle but as always provides an emotional burst. Another band classic is up next, "Queen Lucille" off the band's "Roll The Tape" album. Kenny Kaufman takes the mic next to lead the band through the Talking Heads cover "Cities" and into another great jam before sliding into the Phish song "Nothing," a JLB bustout not played by the band since 2/1/12. The set closer is a nice JGB style version of "After Midnight" with Andy Griffith and Eleanor Rigby teases, and the encore is an energetic take on AC/DC's "Highway To Hell." This is a great show at a friendly venue with all four band members on stage again! It has everything...classic JLB tunes, newer JLB tunes, JLB debuts, Phish tunes, classic rock and several hot jams. Definitely one worth listening to! Enjoy!
