View Notes-Not sure of our seat numbers and my ticket stubs are in one of a mountain of boxes in a storage unit. The mics were set up on a giant mic stand that was actually made to hold one side of a PA system. It went up about 12-14'. The scene at the Irvine Meadows lot was way different than bay area shows. We flew in to LAX and rented this white station wagon. We wanted a van, but that's all they had. Anyway there wasn't much room to sleep. But who needs sleep. I have this "Fear and Loathing" sort of memory of too many cheap drugs available 24/7 in the lot and plenty of good acid for the ride to Mexico after the shows. We flew on these cheap comp plane tickets I bought off this Italian in Kansas City. No problem flying out of KCI, but the return trip out of LAX was a huge problem. Even in 1988 they were checking ID's when boarding at LAX. We clearly were not the guys attached to the Italian names on these tickets. We finally made it home after a few calls and with the help of a good friend who lined up booked and paid for the tickets which were not cheap same day. It took me a couple of months to pay him back. Anyway that's the short tame version of a very long story. What a long strange trip!!!!!!!!
