View NotesThis show was the tour opener of Jammin Jed's 2017 Fall Tour in Secondlife, taking place on September 24, 2017 at The Blarney Stone. As always it was packed house at the familiar Irish pub, and with a strict curfew in place, the sets are short and to the point, but as always Jed packs as much jam in the middle as he can! First set starts off with a bang, as SL musician Cailidgh Spires was in attendance at the show so Jed opens with her original tune "The Song With Words And Stuff." It's usually a closing number, but in the lead off spot it kicks the show instantly into high gear. Jed keeps the energy going with the 'dungeons & dragons' song "Alignments," before taking a brief breath with the instrumental "One And..." which of course is paired with it's sibling cowboy tune "Ride With The Devil." The bouncy directive "Go Away" is next, and it produces the first set's only real jam portion. It's a methodic rhythm with some nice keys and hot guitar licks. It transitions into "It Ain't Living," in dediciation to "Batman Day" (i.e a dedication to Jed's lost friend Frank Battitude). First set wraps up with a wild dive into "Catfish Friend," (another dedication to Jed's friend Beachy Piers). Second set starts out with "Doesn't" which as always includes a hot solo section (complete with Steely Dan tease), and as it often does, the song generates a nice improv jam, the longest of the set, before it rises into the dramatic "Sunlight." The blues tune "Roll Over" lightens the mood next, before another deep dive with the robotic "Multiply" and the other hot jam of the set. This one feeds right into the show closer, the fun, bluegrassy "Forgot To Forget You." Hard stop. No encore. This is a fun, short show featuring ALL original music, including some of Jed's favorites to jam on, and it shows with several hot (but short!) jams. Enjoy!
