View NotesThe JLB is back for the second of four shows in a row at the Purple Rain venue in Secondlife, performed live on September 7, 2017 from The Jedstead studios ("don't forget the 'the'"). It's another fun and energetic JLB show and the reason we're glad to have them back! Jed, Ken, Mark and Pete deliver two solid sets of familair originals, debut songs, popular covers and wicked jams. The show kicks gently off with "Far Gone Blues" featuring Jed and Mark on dueling guitars, then shifts quickly into cover tune territory with a pair of Grateful Dead tunes. Kenny Kaufman leads a powerful "Eyes Of The World," with a short but rocking jam that segues into a fast paced "Jack Straw." A brand new JLB tune comes next, a fun cautionary tale called "Moved To The Country," followed by Mark Gutenplan's 9/11 Tribute song "The Rally." A pair of Phish tunes round out the cover-heavy first set, with "Sand" giving way to one of the killer jams of the night before the traditional JLB transition to "Dirt" leading into the break. Second set opens with the JLB pop-rocker "Still In Luv With U," but instead of the typical three-minute "singles" version they open it up into the longest jam of the evening which moves through multiple vibes before winding its way into the southern rock dirge "Listen To The Angels." Mark's original "FM Rock" is up next, with vocals by K-Man, and it's the perfect partner for a Walter Becker tribute with Steely Dan's "Do It Again." Jed's wintery tale of woe "The Freeze" portends the seasons with a forceful jam and the "2000 Pikes" tells a timely tale from history. Second set closes with the 'stormy' folk song "Geneva Sue, " and a Bob Dylan 'Bobcore' caps off another great night with The Jed Luckless Band! Enjoy!
